A striking original World War One poster created by Coquemer Imp., Paris by Artist A. G. Wavshawsky. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Special Collection of "Great Posters of the Great War" describes this poster as that of the YMCA Type Collection further described as "The Foyers du Soldat (Union Franco-Americaine) collection features fascinating, sometimes strange, graphically poor posters. The Franco-American Union, concerned with the welfare of the French poilu, advertises the YMCA-run “foyer” (a hard to translate word with all the connotations of “home” in English) as a refuge. Inside, man escapes the battlefield."
This poster is described as: "UNL poster 338". Poster is 29.5" W x 41" H. The condition of this poster is close to excellent as it has not suffered the normal wear of these fragile, over 100 year old posters that were usually not printed on high quality papers.
The sleeve does not accompany the poster. Shipping is available and the poster will be shipped rolled in a sturdy shipping tube.
