Rare 1860's CDV Of The Civil War Us Navy Vessel USS Kearsage With Crew And Other Views

CDV done by Francois Sebastien Rondin of Cherboug. The battle of the USS Kearsage and the Confederate Privateer, CSS Alabama in the Battle of Cherbourg on June 19, 1864. There is an excellent article on Wikepedia that give a detailed account of the battle and the sinking of the CSS Alabama. The Alabama had captured or sunk 65 Union Merchant ships. The reverse of the CDV is signed by an Ezra Bartlett.

The card is in good condition considering it's age. It measures 4.25" x 2.75"
