George Albert Frost is a listed artist who is best known for his New Hampshire landscapes. In 1885 he accompanied George Kennan on a second trip to Siberia to record the life of Russian exiles, during which time Frost painted several Siberian scenes. This painting is 4 1/8" x 4 3/4" and is framed in a "shadow box" type frame which measures 12 1/2" x 13 1/2". There is a family note on the back regarding provenance.
There is a second painting by Frost of a similar size and framing which states that it is: "Paul Rubens Frost - by his father - George Abbot (should be Albert) Frost" which is in a separate lot. (Lot # 144)
