Item Description

A large format book (13" x 10") in good condition except there is a split in the plastic front cover. During the second trip in 1961, Rockefeller's catamaran overturned in heavy current and rough tides and Michael Rockefeller lost his life. The Asmat was a tribe in New Guinea, headhunters and cannibals until 1954. Book deals with art of carving the implements that were used or decorative by the members of the tribe. Book is 347 pages.
