William Fasson worked in London from 1758-1800 and is one of the few double volute makers who marked their measures. This one-liter export measure is in as found condition and has an even light gray color overall. The mark is fine as struck. He apparently enjoyed a decent export market as numbers of his pieces are found in New England. Information copied from and courtesy of http://www.hiltpewter.com/contact.php
This pewter measure is of English export and the "PM" stamped on the lid stands for "Proof Massachusetts". There is also the letter "Y" stamped on the rim along with Fasson's makers mark.
The measure is 10.5" tall to top of thumbpiece.
Notes: Condition is consistent with age with minor dings and abrasions.
