Item Description

Hardcover. Condition: Good. First edition. A very nice copy in original illustrated cloth covers. Some wear to the spine ends. The first appearance of the great illustrator, A. B. Frost. Adeler was the pseudonym for Charles Heber Clark. (above information from Abe Books.) There were a total of four illustrators listed but Frost looks to have done the majority of the 400 illustrations.
There is a pencil notation in the front of the book: "1st Book Illustrated by A. B. Frost. Joseph W.P. Frost Eliot, Maine"
