Riviere Binding: Dickens Bleak House First Edition FINE LEATHER

See image with list of “points “sent to us from a concerned bibliophile — upon close examination, our copy has all these first edition points with the exception of p 596 line 31 “will”— capitalized (though on p 613 line 4 up from bottom the word is not capitalized— thus splitting the point!) ; point not found — only found in "Some copies" —pg 230, not missing the 2. Also, xiii “elevated” page number does seem elevated— see image. It seems we can safely call this a first edition.

Dickens, Charles Bleak House, London; Bradbury and Evans, 1853; 8VO; 1st Edition in book form; binding by Riviere; full calf, boards bordered with double gilt-fillets, richly gilt spine with red and brown leather spine labels; gilt dentelles, marbled endleaves, all edges gilt; 39 illustrated plates, including frontispiece; fine binding with case; near fine condition — two bands scuffed. Pp. xvi, 624. Clean copy. Earlier bookseller’s typed description laid-in (when the price was still only $450). Includes the 3 first edition points (see image— with digitally superimposed yellow highlighter.)
