Only a few copies located in libraries. Printed wrappers, ad on back cover; chipping, 2 patches of pinholes on back pages. Poe's critical writings also show his engagement with Moore's work. In his January 1840 review for Burton's Gentleman's Magazine, Poe delved into Moore's work, praising its "vivid fancy, an epigrammatic spirit, a fine taste, vivacity, dexterity, and a musical ear," while also critiquing its perceived reliance on fancy over imagination. This copy, preserved in its original printed wrappers, provides a tangible link to a pivotal moment in American literary criticism.
