Item Description

Original bromoil transfer photo of a bucolic mountain scene, inscribed “E. Wertheim, 1945” below the image, printed on paper watermark dated “1942.” A pencil notation in the lower left corner identifies this as a “bromoil transfer.” The bromoil transfer process was popular from 1907-1930s among pictorialist photographers who valued the ability to manipulate the texture and tonality of the final print. Full watermark reads “1942 Mould Made”; minor wear, small brown spot in margin. Image is approx. 7x 9 inches; sheet 15x10 inches. SHIPPING AVAILABLE.
