Uriah Hunt imprint, 1831. The Practical Teacher being an easy and rational Introduction to Arithmetic.... By Thomas Randolph. Original boards stripped of paper covering and spine, text leaves toned and stained--unsophisticated, true, but a good peek at bookmaking techniques. Note the uncommon bookplate--, "FLORIDORE A. KEEHLN" -- contemporary bookplate and inscription (dated 1835), possible reference from a Keehln Family genealogical website: Floridore Alexis Keehln (ca. 1825-1878) m. 1) Maggie Neely (she died in 1857, age 20, while returning to Tennessee from their bridal trip to Hope IN), 2) Bell Williamson. He and Bell had seven children, lived in Denmark TN. A Southern bookplate? A few kid doodles add charm.
