Original yellow cloth covers, black lettering, very word along joint and spine ends, edgeworn, soiled; text pages a bit wavy, foxing noted, hinges starting, etc. No dust jacket. Frederick Smith’ s copy, name signed in pencil on endpaper; back cover stamped “Washington Square Book Shop”— the legendary Greenwich Village establishment. Cecil Beaton’s New York. J.B. Lippincott & Co., 1938. Published in 1938, celebrated British portrait photographer Cecil Beaton’s book Cecil Beaton’s New York captures his intimate perspective on 1930s Manhattan high society.
