Henry Turner Bailey, Photography and Fine Art (The Davis Press, Worcester, MA, 1918). Hardcover, illustrated throughout; a worn copy —shaken with edge damp-staining— of an important early 20th century reference informing students on photography as a fine art. Bailey was an influential arts educator who helped photography gain recognition as a fine art form rather than just a practical tool. This well-used edition offers insight into early photographic instruction. Sold WAF. For good measure, we’re adding another manual, Andreas Feininger’s Principles of Composition in Photography.
