J. L. de Lolme's "The Constitution of England, or an Account of the English Government," compares the English government with republican and other monarchies in Europe. This is the fourth edition, corrected and enlarged, published in London in 1784 by G. Robinson and J. Murray.
This book was presented to William H. Fox by his father's and uncle's schoolfellow, John Emeris , on September 13, 1873, in 4th St. Leonards, who, while breathing many sincere well wishes for Fox's happiness and prosperity in a new land, cherishes the earnest hope that he will long retain affectionate remembrance of those he has separated with in the old country."
There is a later inscription, "Rutger B. Miller received this book from E. B. Nichols on August 15th, 1902."
