This is a fabulous piece of art glass that is 7 1/2" tall and 8" wide 

This Siletz Basket by Donald Carlson is the most desired Siletz Basket in the series that Donald Carlson made. You will find many colors in this style but Carlson is famous for the development of controlling RED GLASS which isn't easy. Just do a search on this latest work and you will see how he dominates this over other glass artist. I am sure other glass artists and collectors have called him, 'The Master of Red'. At least that is the title I will give him.

The Siletz Basket series does come in other colors and some plain without the addition of added glass to the body of the vessel. But it is the RED, such as this one that is hard to find on the open market. 

Collectors know this is the prize of them all. The 'Master Red Center Piece' to have and surround it with the other colors to make a major statement. Or better, let it stand true for its own command.

A representative vase of the local tribe in the artist's town. Beautiful RED - BLACK - YELLOW and ORANGE Accents on the body in abstract design on the outside. Made in the Carlson Art Glass studio located in Oregon.

This series, the Siletz Baskets, honor the local Native Tribe in Siletz, OR. Carlson put his artistic vision of symbolism into these creations.
