This is a beautiful set of demitasse cups & saucers. They're small - about 2.5" tall and the saucers are about 5" wide. They appear to be hand-painted. They have a stamp at the bottom of the saucer; the use of a six-pointed star was common among Japanese export ware, especially during the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is most likely a stamp from the distributor, and not the manufacturer.
They are gorgeous - the colors are stunning! They're traditional Imari colors - deep blue, gold, and a coral red. They have some wear: some rubbing to the gold edges, some crazing and discoloration, hairline cracks, and a couple minor chips. All of them are still structurally sound.
