Antique Etching William Unger After William Merritt Chase Depicting A Portrait Of Frank Duveneck

This is a timeless antique etching. It was an etching created by William Unger after a William Merirtt Chase oil painting portrait of Mr. Frank Duveneck. It is commonly referred to as "The Smoker". It is plate signed by Chase in the lower left corner and by Unger in the top left hand corner. The subject, Frank Duveneck (1848-1919) was an artist as well. It was created in 1879.

There is a signature under Chase's plate signature that seems to be in pencil and looks like it could be Frank Duveneck's signature - the artist that the portrait is of.

There is a good amount of damage to the paper - including some foxing and water damage. The glass in the frame is broken as well.

The etching measures about 6" wide by 10" tall. Overall, including the frame, it is about 10" wide by 16.5" tall
