The dolphin is a much adored design motif dating back to Greek mythology and was popular in France during the 16th centurty as the symbol for the Dauphin, the kings eldest son. Also widely used in the Regency, Empire and American Federal periods. This is a midcentury pedestal with three dolphins and a smoked glass top.
Notes: Great vintage condition. Small .25 inch crack to glass, no break or sharp edges
