She was known as 'Little Miss Monet' because her paintings are thought to look so much like Claude Monet. She had her first painting displayed at the Houston Art Museum of Fine Arts when she was 10 years old. She was awarded a full scholarship to study art at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts School of Art in 1937. She also studied at the University of Houston and with two European Masters.
She has had her work hanging in galleries and private homes all over the world and has had numerous awards and recognitions. She was the founder and teacher at the Galveston Bay Art School. Ms. Hollan has been shown in galleries all over the US and Europe. Ms. Hollan passed away in 2013.
Bellingrath Gardens and Home is the 65-acre public garden and historic home of Walter and Bessie Bellingrath, located on the Fowl River near Mobile, Alabama, United States. Walter Bellingrath was one of the first Coca-Cola bottlers in the Southeast, and with his wealth built the estate garden and home.
