Photographer Mitsuhiro Koji was born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1967. He went to the United States in 1994 to study, and was mainly active in New York until he returned to Japan. His monochrome works, made using gelatin silver prints, capture the people he encountered on the streets and the scenery of the time in their true form.
This exhibition features works that capture the "silence" and "light and shadow" hidden in the glamor of New York. By arranging scenes that are both New York-like and at the same time the least New York-like, Koji expresses another unexpected side of the city center.
