Persian Hand Knotted Kashmir Silk Carpet

Gorgeous hand knotted area rug. The rug was purchased from an antique shop in India. It is knotted by hand and the threads are pure Kashmir silk and many of the colors dyes are natural (not chemical based). The design is typical of this region and Indian artisans in general. The rug has an amazing durability as it hasn’t changed its condition or color hasn’t faded in the 30 years since purchase.

The fringe on one of the corners is worn/missing as shown in the close up photo. Otherwise there are no stains or tears throughout the rest of the rug.
