Elegant Two-Part Mahogany Breakfront By Schmieg & Kotzian, Circa 1940s

Elegant two-part mahogany breakfront sideboard or china cabinet by Schmieg & Kotzian. Its upper case features a decorative carved cornice, with four glass doors which open to three adjustable shelves with plate rails. Below is a lower case with drawers featuring felt-lined divided flatware frieze organizers, pullout serving shelves, linen drawers, and cabinet storage compartments. The base features beautiful crotched mahogany veneer drawer fronts with cockbeaded borders and heavy brass pulls. A single key locks all doors. Stamped with an "SK" mark on the British-made drawer lock for Schmieg & Kotzian, Inc. In very good to excellent overall condition, with minor imperfections expected wear from age and use.
