Asian Rose Medallion Vases

This is a pair of antique Chinese porcelain vases in the Rose Medallion style, a highly collectible design originating from the Qing Dynasty and commonly produced in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Each vase features a hand-painted scene depicting traditional Chinese figures engaged in conversation within a courtyard or palace setting, framed by elaborate floral and scroll motifs in vibrant shades of green, pink, orange, and blue.

The vases are adorned with decorative gilded handles shaped like stylized foo dogs or mythical creatures, adding to their ornate appearance. The intricate borders surrounding the figural scenes include floral patterns, delicate scrollwork, and auspicious symbols. The characteristic palette of pinks, greens, and gold accents is a defining feature of Rose Medallion porcelain, which was made primarily for export to Western markets during the 18th and 19th centuries.
