1840's Halley's Comet Pin Collection
This is the most complete well kept pin collection you will ever come across. These were made for the 19th century Halley's comet sighting.
In the Victorian era astronomy was foreign, there were more questions than answers present, inspiring an exciting and dangerous perception of the sky and what lies in it. Comet jewelry wasn’t the only popular form of astronomical themed jewelry; crescent moons and stars were also very prevalent among Victorian jewelry. Halley’s comet rare appearances occur every 75 years which makes these fanciful representations of comets a rare expression of it’s beauty, until we are graced with her again in July of 2061.
