Last Days of Pompeii, by Edward Bulwer Lytton. Copyright 1893, though it appears there was an earlier edition. This appears to be the author's attempt to illustrate life in Pompeii as he would perceive it. 559 pages with notes.

Acceptable condition for the age. Has a little staining particularly in front. Inscription from 1981 referring back to a prior owner / provenance of the book. Some bent corners in the center. Binding is neither particularly loose nor tight. (Cover gaps from the pages themselves when opened, but not falling apart). Certainly decent considering age.

The bonus on this is a vintage 1930s photo that was found inside as a bookmark. Considering this was passed on with a note marking the original owner, it seemed wrong not to include a piece of family history.
