In 1966 there was one mass shooting that was recorded in the United States. Its effects were very profound. Charles Whitman provided us with was to become an American epidemic.
This is the work of an anonymous young artist who felt so strongly about the Texas Tower killings he produce a memorial to all the victims and the entire tragedy .
This work is constructed on a skate board with newspaper laid down and wood along with metal and monofilament line. Each victim of that shooting is memorized with a picture and the location where he or she was murdered.
Originally purchased in the late 1960’s the importance of this piece has grown and will continue to do so as time goes on.
An original LIFE Magazine is included and a pine box that the sculpture is incased when desplayed.
