This table was made in the mid-1800s in China for export to the United States. It has quite a bit of carving including a cloud band underneath the top. That’s the open work portion. It has a soapstone insert in the top which is very thick and durable. The table has no nails it’s put together entirely with the wedge joints and pegs. All solid rosewood.
