Online description of lusterware:
"Lusterware refers to a style of pottery decorated with metallic oxided glazes which provides an iridescent effect. The process involves two firings: the first adds the color, the second, the luster. The magic of lusterware begins in Mesopotamia, specifically during the 9th century C.E, in the Abbasid Caliphate."

"What are the different types of lusterware?
There are four principle colors of lusterware: silver/platinum, copper/brown, gold, and pink/purple. The most desirable pieces are from the peered of 1790-1800 with the soft rose-pink glaze."

Notes: See pics.
