About the Sale
Hop On Board Bill’s Excellent Train Collection Adventure! This auction also features a remarkable collection of Die-Cast Collectibles, under the dynamic theme of "Planes Trains and Automobiles".
In the 1930s and 40s, the rhythmic click-clack of toy ...view moretrains was music to many young boys’ ears, and Bill was no exception. His love for trains began when his father gifted him a model locomotive for a Christmas train garden, igniting a passion that would last a lifetime. That first small engine, with its vibrant colors and intricate details, quickly became Bill’s prized possession.
Bill's adventure truly began as he transformed his room into a miniature railway wonderland, with tracks winding around furniture and shelves lined with engines. Determined to grow his collection, Bill worked at a local toy store, spending his days arranging trains and saving every penny he earned to buy more.
Bill’s expertise soon turned him into more than just a collector; he became a savvy reseller, known for finding rare, high-quality trains. His knack for spotting valuable pieces allowed him to build a collection that was not only vast but also meticulously curated. Each train he added was a testament to his deep knowledge and passion for the hobby.
Bill’s love for trains extended beyond models. He became a train engineer for a major East Coast railway, turning his childhood fascination into a career. Even after relocating to a new state, Bill’s dedication to the hobby didn’t waver. He found fellow enthusiasts and co-founded a local train club, which became a beloved community hub. Bill also spearheaded an annual train show, drawing crowds eager to admire the elaborate displays and find unique items to add to their collections.
Bill’s collection is more than just a hobby; it’s a legacy built on love, expertise, and a keen eye for value. The Junk and Disorderly Girls are honored to present Bill’s renowned collection to you. These pieces are not just trains and toys — they are a tribute to a man who turned his passion into a lifelong pursuit, inspiring fellow collectors and train lovers alike. Don’t miss the chance to bid on a piece of Bill’s storied collection and keep his legacy rolling!
