Your Work means Victory poster by Fred Hoertz Original Vintage Medium Rare United States Shipping Board WWI Poster
“Your Work means Victory, Build another One” poster, 1918, Original US WW1 poster measuring framed 30.5” x 39.5”. Distributed by the United States Shipping Board, Emergency Fleet Corporation and published by Ketterlinus Philada. Imp., Philadelphia, PA and designed by artist Fred J. Hoertz, this poster features a view of an American ship yard and workers as they work on rigging the smokestack of a war ship. President Woodrow Wilson initiated a massive poster propaganda project to convince the American people that all war efforts were both justified and necessary. This poster was specifically targeted at shipyard workers to remind them that their labor was essential for victory and that they were just as important as the troops. Poster looks to be mounted under glass with rippling, a taped tear top & bottom, wrinkling, foxing, staining and toning, otherwise in fair and displayable condition. Even with the condition issues noted, this is a great WW I poster.
