SJD Auctions is located at 35 Mechanic Street, Amenia, NY 12501 on the NY/CT border in Dutchess County. We sell a variety of household goods, artworks, collectibles and antiques.
What began as an eBay store out of Pawling, evolved into a consignment shop in Port Jervis, NY, before finally becoming an auction house out of Cuddebackville. More recently we moved our business to Amenia, NY where we hope to remain for many years to come!
We are currently accepting new consignors. Items that our buyers are looking for include original artworks, vintage toys, mid-century modern decor, jewelry (both costume and fine jewelry), vintage & antique pottery, tools, garden and lawn decor, seasonal holiday decor and video games just to name a few. We cannot accept baby or toddler items, alcohol & tobacco, Nazi or any hate-group related items, stolen or counterfeit goods, prohibited substances, motor vehicles without clean titles, services or alternative currencies, hazardous materials or destructive firearms.

By bidding on any auction, you are entering into a binding legal agreement with SJD Auctions.
All items are sold "As Is, Where Is." We make no representations or warranties with respect to the items in our auctions. You are welcome to visit our auction hall during the listed preview dates. If you are not able to preview in person, we encourage you to ask any questions prior to bidding on the items.
Registration to bid is free. You must register online at https://auctionninja.com with a valid credit card to bid on our online auctions.
While we try our best to avoid putting reserves on our items, please be aware that occasionally there will be an item where the consignor has requested a reserve.
SJD Auctions expressly forbids consignors and their agents from bidding on any item they have consigned to an auction. If you are caught bidding on your own items, you will receive one warning, your bids will be removed from those items, and if you or your agents continue to bid on your own item you will be blocked.
Every item becomes the responsibility of the new owner as soon as the item has been sold. If you are the highest bidder, you are responsible for insuring your purchase immediately and agree not to hold SJD Auctions or any of its employees responsible for any damage, loss or theft.
All sales are final. Any bids submitted to SJD Auctions are final and irrevocable. If you are the highest bidder when the auction closes, you are responsible to pay for and collect your items within the time specified in the auction details page. If your credit card is denied and other payment arrangements are not made, your items will be resold and you will be prevented from bidding on future auctions.
Winning bidder’s credit card on file will be charged for the sale price plus the buyer’s premium and NY State Sales Tax upon the close of the auction or shortly thereafter. Buyers cannot take possession of or remove their purchases from the auction site until the total purchase price (including applicable taxes or fees) has been paid in full. Purchases must be removed from the site by the time specified in the auction details page on this website.
Winning bidders are required to pay a buyer’s premium of 20% on purchases made by credit card and 18% for purchases made in cash.
Winning bidders are required to pay New York State Sales Tax of 8.125% on all purchases, unless a valid Resale Certificate is provided prior to the auction start.
Winning bidder is responsible for picking up their items on the designated pick-up days, or for scheduling a shipping option within 7 days after the close of the auction. Failure to pick up items on the designated pickup days, or arrange shipping within 7 days of the of auction close will result in the items being deemed abandoned, and re-sold or disposed of with no refund due the winning bidder.
When possible we will provide packing materials and assistance moving the items. However, all winning bidders picking up in person should be prepared to supply their own materials and labor required for removal of items. Any items abandoned on premises due to inadequate transportation or moving assistance will result in an automatic $50 fine, which will be charged to the credit card you have on file.
Lots that are designated shippable will have a small black & white "package" on the upper right corner of the listing. If you require shipping, please do not bid on lots that do not have this symbol, unless you are prepared to be fully responsible for setting up your own delivery within the 7-day post auction window. If you are not sure whether an item qualifies for shipping, please contact us prior to bidding.
Please confirm your Auction Ninja address on file is correct as we will ONLY be shipping to the shipping address on your account. Any additional cost incurred because of an incorrect address will be the responsibility of the buyer. We will bill your Auction Ninja card on file through Stripe.com, or you can pay directly through PayPal - if you choose the PayPal option, we will email you the PayPal address. We will assess a $15.00 handling fee per package for jewelry, book and ephemera lots, in addition to the actual shipping cost. For in-house approved artworks we charge a $25 handling fee per artwork plus shipping. For box lots / home decor / seasonal items / toys / multi-lot orders, we charge a $25 handling fee per package plus shipping - please note that we do our best to combine shipping when possible. These handling fees are in place to cover materials used, employee labor costs and credit card processing fees. If the shipping invoice is not paid within 7 days of receipt, bidder agrees to forfeit the items without refund.
All items shipped in-house by SJD Auctions will include insurance coverage. Should items arrive damaged, buyer must contact the delivery service directly to file an insurance claim. Buyer agrees that SJD Auctions is not responsible for lost or broken items. Additionally, buyer agrees that SJD Auctions is not responsible if the buyer's insurance claim is denied.
If the buyer opts to have their items shipped by a third party, buyer agrees not to hold SJD Auctions responsible for items that may be lost, broken or stolen by the third party shipper, its employees or partners. Additionally, buyer agrees to contact the third party shipper directly regarding any insurance claims.
UNCLAIMED ITEMS: If you miss the pick-up day, or select shipping and later decide that the shipping cost is too much, we will not allow you to schedule an appointment to pick-up the items, or to pick-up on the next auction pick-up date. If you miss the pick-up date, and decide that you would like shipping you must contact us within 7 days of the auction close, or risk forfeiting your items without refund. NO EXCEPTIONS.
