Measures 32 x 14 x 30" tall.
Ted Baumritter, a New York businessman, formed "The Baumritter Corporation" in 1932. The company manufactured primarily garden items like trellises and also a few mid century furniture pieces. By 1939, he and his brother-in-law / business partner, Nat Ancell, introduced the "Ethan Allen by Baumritter" line. In order to survive the Great Depression, the two men bought an outdated factory in Beecher Falls, Vermont and started offering a 28 piece collection of "Early American" design furnishings to the American housewife...Ancell's target market. The "Early American" design was considered very stylish and innovative for the time period.
This item is not stamped with the Ethan Allen Name, so most likely an earlier piece. The wood is not maple- possibly Cherry. It has 9 porcelain knobs.
