John Byrne's Next Men #0-5 (1992) Dark Horse Comics

Published between February and June 1992 by Dark Horse Comics, John Byrne's Next Men issues #0 through #5 are both written and illustrated by John Byrne. This series introduces a group of genetically engineered individuals, known as the Next Men, who escape from a covert government project and grapple with their newfound abilities in the real world.

Issue #0: Collects the four-part introductory story previously serialized in Dark Horse Presents #54-57, providing the origin of the Next Men and their emergence into reality.

Issue #1: The Next Men—Nathan, Jasmine, Jack, Bethany, and Danny—navigate their first experiences in the real world after escaping the virtual reality of Project Next Men.

Issue #2: Titled "Worldview," the team members find themselves separated, facing various challenges as they adjust to their new reality.

Issue #3: A rescue mission turns violent, revealing the deadly potential of the Next Men's powers.

Issue #4: The group reunites and learns about other survivors of the project, including genetically mutated beings with their own agendas.

Issue #5: The Next Men head to Washington, D.C., confronting political intrigue and uncovering deeper conspiracies related to their origins.
