In this issue, the Super-Skrull, endowed with the combined abilities of the Fantastic Four, is dispatched by the Skrull Emperor to eliminate Captain Mar-Vell. The Super-Skrull's mission is driven by a desire to prove his worthiness to the Emperor, with the promise of the Emperor's daughter's hand in marriage as his reward. This issue also includes the second appearance of Carol Danvers, adding to its significance.
