This oak carving was decommissioned by a NY Museum years ago. Unfortunately there is no paperwork available.
There is some damage by the fingers and chalice. The wood has age cracks. If you need any additional photos, email me. Approximately 9” w x 24” high.
St. Barbara, (died c. 200 CE; feast day December 4), legendary virgin martyr of the early church. Venerated as one of the 14 Auxiliary Saints (Holy Helpers), she is invoked in thunderstorms and is the patron saint of artillerymen and miners
