Set of 4 signed Leon Dolice black and white prints of New York landmarks. They would be a phenomenal full wall or room. 3 measures approximately 15” x 21” to mat. Frame size 22 1/2” x 29” . The East River approximately 20 1/2”. 15”. Frame approximately 22
In 1951, Dolice used the linoleum block process to make 24 prints of his favorite New York scenes. These were made into cards that were boxed and sold, one of each of the 24 images. In 1952 Dolice produced a series of seven much larger (image size 14" X 20") monochrome linoleum blocks from which a total of 25 black and white prints were made of some of the same subject as the smaller cards. These are 4 of those prints. Very rare. Each print has a pencil written description of the scene on the bottom left of the print, and a pencil signature on the bottom right.
Includes Downtown New York, The East River, McDougall Alley, and Gramercy Park.
1/2” x 28”.
They are all actually not as white as most of the Pics, but not as dark as the darkest ones. The daylight and camera made photographing them difficult! The only damage I see is they have very, very slight foxing and paper browning. I pictured the worse of it.
They weigh about 24 lbs unpacked.
