A native San Franciscain, Bruce Xavier Balfour attended the California School of Fine Arts. At one period in his career , he spent a number of years painting and sculpting in the Central Pacific, mainly Samoa.
His work has been purchased for private collections in the United States and Europe.
Upon his return to San Francisco, he designed murals on a Roraan Empire theme for films.
