Lenore Bailey is a New York photographer.

She started taking photographs on her ninth birthday when she was presented with a Swinger Polaroid camera as her birthday gift and she has never stopped.

Lenore began with photographing her family and friends in her idyllic youth in the Hamptons.

Later as PA for The Grateful Dead’s manager she branched into music and theatre.

Yes it’s true. She was the PA for The Grateful Dead’s manager.

After going back to college she received a BFA degree in fine art, worked as an art consultant, and became a gallery director in Easthampton, New York.

Lenore also produced the TV show “Patron of the Arts”.

At every step photography was always an integral part of her life.

In Lenore’s own words,

“I was very fortunate to be able to not only photograph family and friends, from an artistic point of view, but also nature in all of its various forms, in summer, fall, and winter. Perhaps the most exciting time of my photographic career was being involved in the music industry. From the clubs to the huge Grateful Dead concerts it was fabulous. Going backstage, being a “part” of the concert, made the camera a part of my life that allowed me to express myself in a most personal way, something that has stayed with me all my life.”

Her photography has been shown in many galleries and group shows over the years on the East End, and is considered to be one of the most established photographers in the Hamptons.
