Fran’s work includes original watercolors and acrylics, both large and small, a large variety of silk screens, exquisite jewelry, greeting cards and an extensive bead and findings collection, all well priced.
Fran was born in Allentown, PA and lived most of her adult life in Long Island, NY where she attended the Traphagen School of Fashion. After working as a commercial artist and fashion illustrator, she studied with the late Edgar Whitney and Charles Reid, both eminent watercolorists. From that point on, watercolor became her passion. Fran received nationwide recognition through numerous solo and group exhibitions including 8 years with The American Watercolor Society, where she was chosen twice for its traveling exhibition that toured the US including the Frye Museum in Seattle, Washington, Yellowstone Art Center in Billings, Montana, the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, NY and the Tweed Museum of Art in Duluth, Minnesota. In her early career, Fran was commissioned to paint large-scale murals for cruise ships. She and her late husband Harlow owned and operated two art galleries in Glen Cove, where they raised their family.
