yle Martin Alzado (April 3, 1949–May 14, 1992) was a defensive lineman who was particularly known for his intense and intimidating style of play. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fourth round of the 1971 NFL Draft. He played for the Broncos (1971-1978), Cleveland Browns (1979-1981) and Los Angeles Raiders (1982-1985). Alzado was a two-time Pro Bowl selection (1977, 1978), three-time All-Pro (1977, 1978 & 1980) and won a Super Bowl XVIII championship with the Raiders. Alzado gained notoriety when he developed brain cancer after hsi playing career. Alzado was an intense and admitted steroid user, and attributed his illness to his use. He spent his last days speaking out against steroid use in the NFL and beyond.
