Jade Cong 玉琮，is said by archeologists that they were used in rituals and symbolized wealth and power. It was not found in graves of the common people, but royals. Some have said it maybe reminiscent of the shape of architecture at the time, and Japanese scholars even said that it may be used as an astronomical instrument. As for Bi 壁，it was likely used for rituals and ancestor worship. The shape is indeed like the sun or moon, and could be used to worship the heavens, the seas, the stars, the mountains, the Gods and the rivers etc.
