ORIGINAL 1950s ETCHING POUR ROBBIE BY PABLO PICASSO

This early etching bought in New York City in the the 1950s and framed-the back of the frame has address and telephone number that dates the piece to the 40s-50s as seen as the phone number BU 8-3960 which was used at that time period- The print is titled and signed ‘Pour Roby. Picasso’ as part of the plate (the signature is backwards.) The original copper plate was a gift that the artist made to his friend Robert J. Godet (Roby) so that he could make copies whenever he needed money. In simple outline style, this elegant piece is an excellent example of Picasso’s outstanding abilities as an abstract artist. This is a very early edition which I've seen go for upwards of 10,000-The piece measures 15" x 12" across framed-as seen it has some discoloration to the matted frame around image-Slight amount of foxing noted
