A fascinating history of the world-renowned Babar the Elephant i created by French painter Jean de Brunhoff and continued by his son, Laurent.
Very good condition with minor wear to mylar covering on dust jacket. All pages in nice shape.
The coffee-table-size book is 191 pages long and profusely illustrated with 312 illustrations, b&w photographs, and other images.
Jean de Brunhoff produced the first seven books of the series between 1931 and 1937, and in 1946 his artist son Laurent took up where Jean had left off. Autho Nicholas Fox Weber worked with Laurent de Brunhoff to recapture aspects of the artist's childhood in France and the values that he grew up with; examines how both he and his father used watercolor, and presents the reader with the artwork's development -- from rough sketches to final illustrations. Much of this material had never before been reproduced."
Very good
