C. 1900s Watercolor, "The Parlor Maid" Signed "A. Masson, Apres Chaplin" (Chas. J. Chaplin)

Original watercolor painted signed "A. Masson" after the original by French painter Charles Joshua Chaplin (1825-1891).
The artist may be Alexandre Charles Masson (b. 1857), active from the early 1900s to late 1920s. (The signature on his own paintings is very different, but on a copy of another's work he would have not signed it that way. )
The work is beautifully done with only light wear at the bottom corners -- a small crease and bumping, but no losses or other wear. It is backed with an extra-thick cardboard to keep it from bending.
