2 Orig. 1940s Photos, Shoeshine Boy Joe, Friends Alec & Mike By Walter Von Egidy

Two original photos by photographer and photo-engraver/etcher Walter von Egidy (1909-1989).
The first, of a young boy shining a customer's shoes, is titled "Shoe Shine Boy." on the front and signed by von Egidy and on the back numbered "#1" and "Joe." (Note: von Egidy lived at the Cove View Terrace address in Stamford in the 1930s, possibly into 1940-1941, so these photos were taken sometime in that period.)
The second shows Joe's two pals, Alec and Mike, visiting his stand, and the information is on the back.
Both are 11" x 17" and in very good condition.
von Egidy lived in Stamford into the 1960s before moving to Bridgewater, CT, and worked for the Graphic Color Plate Co. for many years, ultimately as Chairman.
