Item Description

This vintage Radiological Survey Meter, also known as a Geiger counter, is a CD V-700 Model No. 6b, manufactured by Electro-Neutronics Inc. in the early 1960s. This device was commonly used during the Cold War era for detecting and measuring radiation levels, particularly in civil defense applications. It comes with its original box, instruction manual, and an operational check source. A piece of history that reflects the fears and precautions of the nuclear age. This unit is untested, so functionality cannot be guaranteed. Please refer to photos for condition details.

The CD V-700 was part of the U.S. Civil Defense program during the Cold War, designed to monitor radiation in the event of a nuclear fallout. These meters were commonly stored in fallout shelters and used for public safety. Today, they are sought after by collectors of military memorabilia, Cold War enthusiasts, and those interested in vintage scientific instruments.

This item is ideal for collectors of Cold War memorabilia, vintage scientific devices, and history buffs interested in nuclear age artifacts. It may also appeal to hobbyists and resellers of vintage electronics.

Pre-owned and untested. The device shows signs of wear, consistent with its age, and is sold as-is. The original instruction manual and operational check source are included, but functionality cannot be confirmed. Please review all photos for additional condition details.

A fascinating piece of Cold War history, this Radiological Survey Meter is a must-have for collectors of vintage civil defense equipment. While untested, it remains a significant artifact from a unique period in history. Sold as-is with no returns.
