This Buffalo Nickel is a classic piece of American coinage, featuring the iconic profile of a Native American on the obverse and a majestic buffalo on the reverse. Designed by James Earle Fraser, this coin captures the rugged spirit of the American West. An essential collectible for numismatists, this piece offers a glimpse into the artistry and history of early 20th-century currency.
First minted in 1913, the Buffalo Nickel commemorated the legacy of Native Americans and the wild buffalo. Its design was revolutionary, breaking away from the traditional depictions of Liberty and celebrating uniquely American symbols. The Buffalo Nickel was minted until 1938, when it was replaced by the Jefferson Nickel.
