John Garrett Thew Weathervane

Although incomplete this John Garrett Thew weathervane features a wonderful patina and is in the form of a fisherman standing and rowing a dory, with a striped bass at the bow to act as a counterweight. One of three individual pieces in photo 12 is the part which when inserted in the hull bottom secures the dory for mounting. The other two pieces are possibly one of the oars. The other oar is not included. The boat itself is structurally intact.

Located in the stern is faintly stamped "John Garrett Thew Norwalk, Conn Dory 194". Once complete the weathervane can be mounted on museum-style stand or when assembled atop an actual rooftop weathervane.
Fish in boat measures 7 3/4"L
