I was bidding/considering bidding on 4 different oil paintings all by the same artist. I asked Leo questions and he did share that one of them had a significant amount of mildew on the back and would need to be cleaned (it was a water scene with a wood line in the background). I did not continue to bid on that painting. I ultimately purchased 3 oil paintings. I asked some questions along the way. He sent me some additional pictures on #1376. He was not very timely in his replies (in my opinion based on my experiences with other auctioneers). I had to ask about the condition of the paintings as he did not list it in his description initially as I have seen other auctioneers do. When it came to pick-up, instructions say to text; however, he doesn't reply to texts. I then called him and he answered right away and stated pick-up was flexible - which is great. I went that same day, however. Leo was a very nice man in person, pick-up was easy. When I got home and inspected the paintings more closely, ALL of them were covered in a light colored mold on the backs of the canvas which would be very hard to pick up in the photos (as a buyer), but easy for the seller to detect and ultimately disclose. I love the paintings I purchased but do very strongly feel the condition of them was misrepresented/not disclosed properly. One of them #1376 (mountain landscape) is so bad (smell) that it is currently in my garage.

First I would like to apologise for not stating that my telephone number posted is a hardline , therefore I did not receive your text. Others told me they had done the same. My fault. Next time I will clearly state my business hardline and post cell phone number clearly. I always make an effort to return calls and emails. rn When I sent you the additional pictures of all the paintings I was sure to take pics of the backs where there was slight signs of mildew. I thought that would suffice. If lot 140 does not clear up and you would like to bring it back I will give you a full refund including buyers premium.
