"RECOVERING" U.S. Marines Original WWII Press Photo - Saipan

"Momentarily stunned by explosions which shattered his cave hideout in the background, a Jap soldier collects his senses as he walks into the open. Marines are watching him from a safe distance waiting for him to surrender or resist. A few minutes later the Jap spotted a Marine and attempted to hurt the dynamite stick, in his right hand. The conquerors of Saipan shot him immediately. This was during the drive on the northern end of the island of Saipan."
