Incredible 83rd Infantry, Army Air Force WWII Photo Album - Over 300 Original Images

This is a fantastic, one of a kind, piece of World War 2 history.
Over 300 images showing of soldiers, life in the barracks, military aircraft and airmen boarding planes with parachutes. These are very well taken and clear photos.
The owner of this album was clearly stationed in many locations during the war. There are images of Paris, Chickasha Airfield (Oklahoma) and one building says "Usher's Trowbridge Ales" that would also put him in England. There are also images of what appears to be North Africa, possibly Algeria.
There are also pictures of an American plane crash, a captured Nazi plane, bombed out buildings (including airplane hangars) and other war scenes.

The 83rd Division participated in many historic battles and events in WWII including The Battle of the Bulge.

They were known as Thunderbolt and the infamous Rag Tag Circus... they were scrappy & resourceful known for repainting German vehicles, tanks, motor bikes, fire trucks and a cement mixer. The division even seized and flew a German Bf 109.

Most notably ... On 11 April 1945 the 83rd Division encountered Langenstein-Zwieberge, a subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp. At the camp, the troops found approximately 1,100 inmates. The inmates were malnourished and in extremely poor physical condition. The 83rd Division reported the death rate at the camp had been 500 per month. Also, that the prisoners had been forced to work 16-hour days in nearby mines, and were shot if they became too weak to work.
